In the real estate game, styling gives a sales campaign an advantage as most people don’t want to have to imagine what a home would look like without clutter, old furniture, dirty windows or an overgrown garden.
Styling a home is a big undertaking, but not as hard as actually having to live in a styled home! The perfect scenario is to actually move out prior to selling and engage a stylist. If you are going to do it yourself though, think about the view of a room from the doorway and make this the best view. Most potential buyers won’t have time to actually walk around every room or think practically about how they will use every bit of space. You need to help them imagine how to use it. Style all the bedrooms as bedrooms. More bedrooms usually means more money! And use furniture that fits the size and proportions of the room, anything too large or too small will look out of place.
